We are currently recruiting for an
Accountant (12-Month Contract)
for our Peterborough, Ontario location.
JOB PURPOSE :
Tasks cover a broad spectrum relating to general accounting, supporting year-end audit, planning and analysis, controllership, and various projects depending on workload and timing.
Specific task examples include variance analysis, month end reporting, job cost administration, transactional support of Accounts Payable & Receiving, transactional support for time entry, and improvement / digitization projects.
JOB STRUCTURE & COMMUNICATIONS :
Reporting to the Manager, Project Accounting FHES & Fuel, the Accountant will be a key member of BWXT NEC’s Finance Team.
Receiving for service invoices : Receiving kept up to date, current and accurate.
Liaise with Accounts Payable, Purchasing and various staff members to ensure receiving for service invoices, and open P.
O. invoices are complete and timely.
Time entry for contract and other employees up to date and accurate.
Month end reporting completed on time, accurate.
Month end journal entries accurately prepared, correctly booked.
Ensure Approved Capital Expenditures capitalized appropriately by working with ACE originators.
General Accounting and Support help to maintain accurate ledgers.
Support with reconciliation process.
Support with general accounting inquiries.
Responsible for ensuring all capital projects follow company project.
Support with job cost functions.
Support various other projects adhoc, as needed.
