The Fish, Wildlife and Lands Branch of the Ministry of Environment is seeking a highly organized, motivated individual to provide a wide-

  • range of administrative and support functions for the Regina location. In this position, your primary responsibilities include : providing support to professional staff by planning / coordinating meetings, travel arrangements and organizing conference calls;
  • formatting, editing and word processing correspondence including confidential briefing notes and ministerial correspondence, letters, and meeting minutes;
  • client service and reception service including providing information to both walk-in and telephone clients; tracking and processing work unit expenditures;
  • time card support; data entry in various computer applications; acquisition of office supplies and equipment and other administrative functions.

    The successful candidate will have in-depth understanding of office and administrative procedures; coupled with a working level skill in word processing, electronic mail systems, and spreadsheets.

    Knowledge of government procedures and protocols regarding financial processes, correspondence, Cabinet and various documents is an asset.

    The ability to organize and prioritize your workload, take initiative to identify and resolve problems, and independently manage several tasks simultaneously and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines is critical to the success of this position.

    You will be approachable and respectful when dealing with stakeholders, the public and government organizations. Typically the knowledge and skills required for this position would be acquired through formal office administration training supplemented by relevant experience in an office environment.
