Join the momentum. We are currently seeking a Database Administrator / Developer to join our growing Technology team. MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada.

Driving innovation throughout the firm, our Technology team provides industry-leading solutions that enable MNP to better serve our clients and people.

We deliver on the strategic needs of service lines, industry and specialty groups, and operations at all levels throughout the firm.

Our specialists develop, enable and support initiatives that allow MNP to deliver client service, collaborate, communicate and operate reliably and efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Performance Expectations

  • Install, monitor, maintain and performance tune databases, ensuring a high level of data availability
  • Perform backup and recovery, connectivity and security, software installation, configuration, patching and upgrades
  • Security and architecture design for on premise and cloud SQL instances
  • Database design and data modelling
  • Write complex stored procedures, triggers and scripts
  • Data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
  • Supporting database management systems, online analytical processing cubes (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) frameworks
  • Performance monitoring and tuning
  • Translation of business needs to data requirements,
  • Establish disaster recovery protocol
  • Provide ongoing database support for development team as required
  • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industry
  • Credentials

  • Completion of a University Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Three (3) or more years professional experience in database development
  • Experience with the administration of a multi-server Microsoft SQL Server environment
  • Experience with database design and data modelling
  • Experience writing and evaluating complex queries
  • Experience with database performance tuning
  • Experience troubleshooting database problems in both production and non-production environments
  • Experience with ETL & Data Migration using SSIS
  • Experience with clustering and Always On availability groups
  • Familiar within a Windows Server environment
  • Experience with Azure SQL would be an asset
  • Experience with SSRS would be an asset
