The Business Manager, Broker Distribution responsibilities include :
Provides operational, strategic and consultative services to the Managing Director (MD) of Broker Distribution and Marketing
Enables effectiveness by providing : 1) research and analysis, timely reporting, budgeting and BU updates 2) preparation and background information for meetings 3) communication and messaging
Enables effectiveness through meeting management & facilitation, follow up on Broker Distribution and Marketing Leadership Team action items, and design support for strategic and event planning
Supports Managing Director (MD) in facilitating team effectiveness by providing timely updates and agenda prioritization & alignment.
Ensures clear communication between all internal stakeholders.
Develops and maintains Broker Distribution and Marketing annual calendar and milestones, partnering with appropriate Executive Assistants and coordinating Leadership Team participation in events.
Ensures appropriate governance processes are in place to support
Influences and shapes design of strategy and event planning for the Managing Director (MD) by collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to determine issues, opportunities and topics requiring Leadership Team attention
Executes events for the Senior Leadership Team to assist in delivering Aviva’s key strategies and objectives to shareholders, employees and the industry
Leads project management for the BD and Marketing Senior Leadership Team including development, leadership, resource allocation, general oversight, governance and project participation.
Ensures timely reporting of key issues and risks.
Position recognized internally and externally as trusted advisor to the MD, Broker Distribution and Marketing and represents at external industry parties on a variety of projects and initiatives with national scope
Members of the Senior Leadership community rely on this role to provide valued and trusted guidance, coaching, advice and support
Degree / equivalent, preferably MBA or similar broad-based qualification / experience
Strong knowledge of financial services particularly GI
Familiarity with our business lines, products, distribution channels and market focus
Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Strong business acumen, coupled with excellent project management / facilitation skills
Strong ability to influence and communicate across all areas of the business
Ability to make decisions, use independent judgment, establish priorities, and work effectively on multiple initiatives
Capacity to consider, process and filter large amounts of complex information quickly and identify appropriate actions
Expansive business experience gained within progressive leadership and individual contributor roles
Very strong business management (business plans, marketing plans, metrics, understands business drivers) capabilities
Led / participated on initiatives that translated a strategic vision and business strategies into tangible plans and deliverables
Played key role in successfully completing major change
Led development and implementation of high profile strategic and tactical projects
Experience in participating on initiatives that translate strategic visions and business strategies into tangible plans and deliverables.
