Application Engineer is the primary technical resource for the field sales force, and are responsible for establishing a target list of key accounts for focused industries.
Working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical resource, the Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.
The Application Engineer must be able to support the Field Sales Engineers to present value propositions to customers and assist the implementation of our strategies for distributors and OEMs.
This position is also responsible for supporting the Product Manager, Field Sales and Inside Sales to help growth the business and achieve order goals.
Maintain expert level of product knowledge and market knowledge.
Customer technical support and applications
Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs / RFPs / RFQs and specification review
Understanding channels, market requirement and competitor landscape
Make necessary engineering calculations to support product selection / recommendation
Maintains the product structure in the SAP.
Perform technical / product training for sales people, distributors and targeted accounts.
Maintain accurate records of opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in company approved databases
Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.
Generate bids and / or coordinate effort on the bidding process for large projects
Maintain professional business relationships within the Field Sales Team
Identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth
Provides input to product feature enhancements and process improvements.
BA in Engineering, Technical Field, or equivalent successful experience in a similar industry role.
Experience 5 10 Years in Engineering
Must be familiar with company’s product (ABB / Baldor / Dodge), with particular emphasis of their application in the industry
Have a solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control systems
Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
Must be able to communicate verbally and conduct training presentations to customers and field sales employees
Bilingual (French & English) not a must, but definitely a plus
Successful candidate must be goal oriented, self-starter, willing to travel and have initiative to drive results. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, solid commercial skills, good organizational skills, and collaboration across interdisciplinary teams are required.
