This competition will establish an eligibility list which will be used to staff level 10 Senior Audit Specialist positions that become vacant for a six month period from the date of posting.
Saskatchewan Finance Audit Branch requires individuals with proven auditing and analytical experience for challenging permanent positions in Regina, Saskatoon or Yorkton.
As a senior audit specialist, you will apply your knowledge and experience to select, plan, lead and conduct audits on large provincial and inter-provincial businesses under various tax statutes.
This will involve large project based audits where you will be required to plan and organize the various facets of the audit and direct the activities of a team of auditors.
Your expertise will also be required to audit and investigate businesses involved in tax avoidance and to recommend policies and procedures for auditing of underground activity.
and knowledge of risk management processes for the purposes of developing risk analysis and performing risk assessments.
You will also bring strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to appropriately manage multiple projects.
To succeed in this role, you will be organized, self-motivated and flexible in order to prioritize multiple tasks and achieve branch objectives.
You will be a proven team player who promotes a positive work environment and you will be thorough, conscientious and attentive to detail in both oral and written communication to achieve desired results.
The successful candidate will also be required to travel in and out of province with overnight stays away from headquarters.
The knowledge required for this position is typically obtained through the attainment of a professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA) and several years experience auditing in a compliance tax environment.
