The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities and qualifications :
Qualifications : Education :
Engineering, Leadership, Manufacturing or a related discipline : Masters level degree preferred
Years of Experience : Minimum 10+ years of experience in a "new build" naval defense shipbuilding environment
Proven ability to lead change in a complex and fast-paced environment
Proven track record in achieving high performance levels
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.
S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Key Responsibilities :
Lead, direct, and manage a team of specialists, engineers amd / or production employees in a new build ship construction environment
Responsible for the leadership of production engineering and planning function in support of shipbuilding
Streamline ship production processes with an emphasis on process design for cost and cycle time reduction
Strategic and tactical continuous improvement activities in multiple vessel construction
Constantly review allocation of resources and materials to ensure optimal utilization in order to meet schedule and budget requirements
Provide assurance to the business that an international warship design can be manufactured and constructed within the shipyard facilities and provide business cases for investment in equipment or shipyard re-design when required
Ensure compliance with all Company Environmental, Health and Safety policies and identify and suggest changes to promote safety awareness
Ensure strict adherence to Company quality procedures and policies
