We are currently seeking an Operations Manager to work closely with the VP of Operations in this high performing and efficient logistics firm.
Located in the GTA this role will directly report to the VP and oversee the operations and customer service team.
Recruit and train new employees to service existing business
Encourage and oversee business development
Monitor shipments to ensure customers are invoiced in a timely manner
Oversee accounts are kept current
Supervise Operations Facilitators as well as all Customer Service Representatives for the Toronto Office
Evaluate overall performance, workload, and organization of staff
Supply head office with all HR related information
Oversee overall staff training
Troubleshoot any situations affecting operations in conjunction with the VP of Operations
Assist in booking and tracing shipments when required
Ensure that each account managers operations are maintained at the proper level
Address any invoicing issues with head office
Assist staff in resolving operational and HR issues if required
Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position
Minimum of 7 years experience in a 3PL environment
Strong leadership and motivational skills
Ability to manage employee conflicts to a successful resolution and to coach and develop team members
Ability to assess talent and build development plans
Ability to proactively plan and organize work to accomplish goals
Good knowledge and experience with Excel
Previous experience with a transportation management system a definite, but willing to train
