What is the opportunity?

As Associate Director, Project Implementation, you will act as a consultant / advisor to business partner and responsible to plan, direct and coordinate activities of assigned strategic initiatives (regulatory, data, business process and technology projects) driven by or impacting Finance functions.

You will be responsible for ensuring project goals or objectives are accomplished within approved timeframe, scope and budget and manage projects with a moderate to high level of value (benefit / cost), and a high level of complexity and uncertainty OR manages projects as part of a Program reporting to the Program Director.

You will manage projects for terms of 6 24 months and budgets of $250K to $5MM.

What will you do?

  • Acts as consultant to business stakeholders to help improve their process and implement strategic initiatives, offering subject matter expertise using process reengineering and technology deliverables (via industry trends and organizational knowledge to understand alternative approaches solutions).
  • Plans and executes projects with a high level of complexity and uncertainty including managing project scope, requirements changes, multiple and competing demands and priorities, as well as determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk using appropriate fact-
  • based metrics / assumptions

  • Promotes innovative or improved methods to get the work done and implement best practices
  • Develops integrated baseline project plans applying estimated models; documents estimating assumptions, refines plans and manages performance against them
  • Manages project communications including status reports to executives, stakeholders, business units, vendors, project team, etc.

  • Raises and tracks risks / issues and conflicts, removes barriers, resolves minor project issues and escalates them to management and / or stakeholders when required
  • Ensure timely engagement with relevant groups, e.g. regulatory, compliance, finance, operational risk, supplier management, as determined by implications of the change being introduced by the project
  • Facilitates Project Sponsor awareness of internal factors affecting Organizational Change that need to be planned for and managed
  • What do you need to succeed?

    Must-have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
  • Significant previous experience working in management consulting, project management and / or change management function within Finance or Accounting function
  • Relevant project management experience with various project delivery methodologies, such as Waterfall, Iterative, LSS and / or Agile
  • Strong functional knowledge / experience of Finance processes and in-depth understanding of Finance data and process flows front to back
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering regulatory, data, process and technology change across major Finance processes
  • Nice-to-have

  • Accounting designation (CPA / CA / CMA / CGA) or MBA
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) Institute
  • Large scale change / project delivery experience in Finance; 5+ year’s progressive project related experience
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering data, process and technology change across major Finance processes
