As a member of our team, you will provide insight and innovative construction solutions to ensure the successful execution of various projects, such as education facilities;
hospitals and health care centers; office buildings; warehouse and distribution centers; and mixed-use facilities.
You will also further hone your skills operating under various delivery methods including Bid-Build, Design-Build, Construction Management and IPD (Integrated Project Delivery).
Reporting to the Construction Project Manager, the Electrical Coordinator is responsible for providing assistance and support to the Project team in the coordination, scheduling, quantity surveying, reporting, and quality control functions of the electrical element of work on a project.
The incumbent has working knowledge of core elements of construction projects, and is accountable for compliance to the documents, as well as to ensure subcontractors are prepared, drawings are approved, and documentation is processed to ensure the project is on time, on budget, safe, and compliant.
Perform a variety of duties including but not limited to administrative duties, update schedules and budgets, maintain cost control, and monitor labour material and equipment activities on the project.
Manage and coordinate with the Engineer / Suppliers / subcontractors for shop drawing reviews to schedule.
Work with Project Managers / on-site Superintendent to update project schedule and budget to identify potential construction issues.
Assist with the review and coordination of project-specific safety plans.
Attend relevant project meetings, and document team meetings, action items, and other pertinent project deliverables / decisions.
Ensure meeting minutes are correct and issued in a timely manner.
Ensure that project site and company assets are secure; and maintain a safe and respectful working environment at all times.
Monitor project change management process, identify change events, submit change notices, track changes and optional changes in project scope, and present to the Project Manager when required.
Provide timely and accurate inputs for progress reports to the Project Manager or Construction Manager.
Monitor and update schedules with the assistance of the team.
Assist with drawings, drawing records, revisions, site instructions and change / purchase orders.
Obtain and provide written concluding documentation for all clarifications and instructions.
Participate in the start-up and commissioning activities as required, ranging from scoping, planning, execution (pre-startup, startup, equipment functional test, system operational test, and commissioning), data analysis / reporting, and ensuring all documentation is received.
Manage company or project assets where required.
for input of regular status reports for the project management team.
Apply understanding of the mechanical / electrical budget and support the manager in the process of billing and change.
Build effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support Graham’s core values.
Communicate professionally with customers and their representatives as require and recognize the importance of building and maintaining effective business relationships.
Equivalent to completion of a relevant diploma training program at a college or technical school, or a university degree.
1 to 5 years project or site-based experience as an electrical coordinator.
Mechanical project coordination experience is an asset.
Proficient with reading electrical drawings.
Proficiency with the core elements of a construction project, and with project management systems, processes, and tools.
Experience managing subcontractors.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite and project management / scheduling software.
