Job Description
As a Senior Business Intelligence & Reporting Analyst, you will :
Work with business partners in Fraud analytics teams to understand business objectives, define clear reporting requirements, develop value-added reporting and provide ad-hoc data extracts in alignment with D&A reporting principles;
Create complex and comprehensive BI reporting packages and dashboards utilizing data infrastructure, localized datamarts and external data sources and transform into visual stories using appropriate systems to support client objectives;
Identify opportunities to meet evolving business needs; utilize various technology / applications / methodologies to rapidly generate impactful visualizations;
Use various methodologies to rapidly generate impactful interactive visualizations or tools. You will have a strong working knowledge of standard data practice and partner with the central data function to service all reporting needs;
Validate the quality and integrity of the data included in the Reporting Packages and Dashboards;
Adopt, implement and effectively evolve report automation and / or visualization standards;
Develop and deliver presentations / communications to management or broader audiences;
Adhere to internal policies / procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines, contribute to the review of internal processes and activities and assist in identifying potential opportunities to improve operation efficiencies;
Support development and implementation of standards, policies, procedures, and solutions that mitigate risk and maximize availability of service, efficiency and effectiveness;
Prioritize and manage own workload to deliver quality results and meet assigned timelines within an Agile framework;
Work independently as the senior analyst / subject matter expert in a given area and may provide technical support to others.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of relevant experience in business or financial reporting / business data analysis and reporting, knowledgeable and savvy with new technology and tools preferably within the global financial services / financial crimes and fraud management industries;
Experience eliciting and refining business requirements, understanding stakeholder needs, and creating documentation which may include data process mapping, data dictionaries, and metadata;
Experience developing and maintaining reporting environments across multiple platforms (e.g. Star Schema, ETL, reporting data layer, etc.);
Proficient with programming languages and working in various data environments (e.g. MS BI Stack, SQL, VBA, SAS, Hadoop, R, Python, etc.);
Expertise using business intelligence, analytics and / or data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, etc.);
Experience with testing best practices and process, including documenting test cases and performing reconciliations is considered an asset;
Sound knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS OneNote;
Very strong comfortability in accessing large data sources, performing mining, extractions and manipulations to uncover relevant data findings and big-picture stories;
Strong analytically-anchored problem-solving skills a logical and strategic thinker with strong critical reasoning skills, proactively identifies risks and issues, recommends solutions, challenges the status quo;
Strong ability to work collaboratively and independently, communicate effectively (both speaking and writing), follow instructions / direction, and help building relationships across teams and functions;
