Under moderate supervision, the Research Analyst functions as a core member of the North American Natural Gas team to provide quantitative research support and assist senior staff in creating IHS Markit reports for the North American Power, Gas, Coal, and Renewables service, contribute to consulting projects and support IHS Markit events.
The Research Analyst will be expected to take initiative in identifying and solving more complex problems independently and utilize knowledge of their assigned disciplines to produce carefully vetted, quantitative products and written work.
This position will have a particular focus on running Gas Pipeline Competition Model (GPCM) simulations of the natural gas market place.

Contribute to consulting projects as required and as driven by business needs by working under the direction of a consulting project leader, digging data, creating spreadsheets and graphics, and seeking out peer review of materials and by providing subject matter expertise in areas of assigned disciplines to support delivery of high-
quality client-specific projects.
Respond to research-related questions of basic to moderate complexity from clients by working in a highly collaborative fashion to quickly identify the appropriate go-
to people, and utilize resources and judgement to address questions and / or refer questions to senior level staff in a timely manner to provide customer delight in situations of one-on-one client needs.
Continuously develop subject matter in a particular / designated practice or focus area by actively contributing to above listed activities and pursing activities / work in various disciplines and staying abreast of current / hot topics and contributing to written / published products to broaden and build upon subject matter knowledge.
