The Consultant Engineer assists policyholders in physically protecting their large industrial and commercial properties against fire, explosion, earthquake, collapse, windstorm, mechanical and electrical breakdown and many other hazards.
He or she works with clients to develop sound loss prevention solutions to manage any exposures and, once the solution is agreed, helps manage the project through to completion.
To stay abreast of new developments, the consultant engineer is provided with frequent technical training that involves independent and classroom study.
Candidates can expect constant challenge, professional growth and personal responsibility.
Skills and attributes
The candidate can use current technology including software products to analyze and document engineering recommendations and services.
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are a must. The individual should be able to work independently from a home office and should expect to travel frequently for periods up to one week.
The candidate must have a valid driver’s license and be allowed to travel to the United States. Candidate must be fully bilingual French and English .
Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering
3 to 5 years of experience in consulting engineering.
Experience in fire protection or insurance would be an asset
