Assists in the development, implementation, and achievement of departmental objectives
Understands departmental needs and business requirements to deliver projects on schedule and within budget
Performs general Cafe administrative duties
Responsible for cash handling
Responsible for inventory, stock rotation and ordering of Café supplies
Assists with menu planning, promotions and special features
Assists with coordination of special events
Participates in overall food preparation and serving, ensuring superior quality and consistency
Ensures all kitchen equipment and work areas are in working order and meet Health & Safety standards
Follows all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
Works effectively and professionally as a member of the Café team providing outstanding customer service to all customers
Challenges the status quo and looks for innovative ways to continually improve processes, increase sales and decrease overall Café costs
Other duties as assigned
Core Competencies :
Post-Secondary Education in related field
2+ years of related experience
Safe Food Handling Certification
Knowledgeable of Canada’s food guide and healthy nutrition
Personal and job hygiene, WHIMIS, health and safety
Proactive and able to continuously manage change in an extremely fast paced, energetic work environment
Outstanding communication, problem-solving skills and customer service skills
Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite
