We currently have a Regular Full-Time opportunity for a Department Clerk on the SCIL-Finance at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre.

Summary of Duties

  • Process customer payment and issue receipt
  • Reconcile daily bank deposit and deposit to Patient Account
  • Close Sales Quote and generate sales invoices
  • Apply payments (cheques, EFTs, etc) to customer ledger
  • Contact customer for deposit and open Sales Order
  • Manage petty cash
  • Assist with personal expense reimbursement (petty cash related)
  • Receive inventories and reconcile with packing slips as well as Purchase Orders
  • Distribute inventory receipt report
  • Reconcile vendor invoice to vendor ledger and follow up with vendors for concerns
  • Responsible for shipping and receiving of goods and supplies
  • Manage stock inventory levels and place order requisition
  • Responsible for handling customs / insurance paperwork for shipped items
  • Respond to internal and external queries
  • Provide back-up support to Administrative areas as required and appropriate
  • Work effectively with all levels of staff to accomplish departmental timelines
  • Qualifications / Skills

  • Successful completion of OSSGD
  • Two years experience in Accounting or A / P and A / R environment with basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Effective organisational skills
  • Minimum 40 wpm typing with maximum 5% error rate
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to effectively identify concerns within area of responsibility and recommend possible solutions
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Word, Access and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Able to work in a fast pace, multi-tasked, high volume, team environment
  • Ability to perform physical work at warehouse area on a daily basis and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work effectively with constant interruptions to accomplish tasks
  • Proven ability to manage high stress situations and problem -solving daily
  • Proven ability to demonstrate forward thinking and initiative
  • Must be detail oriented and maintain high rate of accuracy
