Bar 1912 is located in the historic Big Four Building, and new to the Calgary Stampede. A premium seating venue offering a mixology inspired chef’s menu on park open to the public, whenever there is an event on park. Open June 2019.

    Position Summary

    Wait Staff and Bartenders are integral members of the Bar 1912 team, who are responsible for creating positive encounters with our guests and delivering consistent, memorable, world class experiences.

    Professionally serving food and beverage in Bar 1912 at Stampede Park while adhering to all service standards and promoting our Western Hospitality and Values.

    The expectation is to go above and beyond to ensure all our guests feel especially welcome and valued.

    This is a casual part-time role where shifts may vary.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to :

  • Working as a team to provide professional, enthusiastic and efficient service, completing a quality check in your section to ensure guest satisfaction and quietly clearing all items from dining tables
  • Set up and tear down of items used on buffet tables and action stations to department standards in a timely manner
  • Familiarity with the menu being served and ability to accommodate all special requests including allergies and dietary needs
  • Service of table wine as well as cash wine sales when applicable
  • Providing responsible beverage service at all times ensuring all Provincial legislation and best practices are followed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety of guests and fellow employees
  • Perform other duties as requested by guests or supervisors
  • Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have worked in a dynamic high end environment where they have experience delivering on multiple priorities and will hold the following qualifications :

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently in groups and one on one conversations
  • Legible handwriting and previous cash handling experience
  • A passion for consistently delivering great service
  • Wine and Mixology training and experience is an asset
  • Previous banquet and high end restaurant experience is considered an asset
  • Must be available to work early mornings, evenings and have daytime availability
  • Must have certification in ProServe Liquor Training, or be able to complete training online within 21 days of date of hire
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school education or equivalent
