We’re looking for passionate, hard working people who want to help us reinvent community forum software. We’re looking for an Integration Software Developer with professional experience and strong organizational and communication skills to join our onboarding / professional services team.

As part of our services department, you will complete a wide variety of customer-facing projects based on scopes you help write and timelines you estimate.

Examples of projects you would lead, participate in, and review include : single sign-on customization, integrations with third-party services, migrations, and other minor workflow alterations via API and framework-level event hooks.

You would be an active participant in improving our documentation and processes as we uncover new challenges and increase our efficiency.

As part of a growing company, you will frequently be presented with novel problems and need to work with and assist folks outside your team or outside the company.

As part of our professional services team, you will regularly interact with our customers, including reviewing code developed by their teams and having deep technical discussions with them.

This position heavily leans toward backend (PHP) experience, but requires competence when approaching the frontend, including foundational CSS & HTML knowledge.

This position is full-time and on-site at our headquarters in downtown Montreal, Quebec.

Your main responsibilities will include :

  • Work within the existing product code to improve our product.
  • Work with technical support and directly with clients to resolve issues.
  • Write addons and implement customizations for our clients.
  • Contributing to the creation of internal libraries, reusable resources, and processes.
  • Produce code that can support and withstand millions of users.
  • Your critical skills & experience :

  • 3+ years professional developer experience.
  • 2+ years professional experience with PHP and MySQL (or similar database).
  • 1+ years recent experience with Javascript, HTML & CSS.
  • Experience with version control (we use git) and code review.
  • Experience consuming content from RESTful APIs from both the front and backend.
  • Knowledge of Web technologies and browser compatibility challenges.
  • Strong ability to estimate the scope of work and break down complex tasks into components.
  • Experience identifying potential bottlenecks, blockers, and missing details in a scope of work.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • High-fluency written & verbal English language skills.
  • Bonus skills & experience :

  • Using or moderating online discussion forums.
  • Agile mindset.
  • OAuth2, SAML, and / or JWT.
  • Data migrations.
  • Application theming (e.g. WordPress).
  • Compiled CSS (e.g. Sass) and CSS methodologies.
  • Accessibility design and testing.
  • Automated testing and linting.
  • Identifying and prioritizing accessibility and usability issues.
  • React or similar front end frameworks.
  • MySQL scaling and performance challenges.
