Location : 969 Robson St. Vancouver. BC

Status : Regular full time

Work Conditions : Regular on nights and / OR weekends may be required.

Salary : Commensurate with qualification and experience

CTV Vancouver is seeking a regular, full-time ENG Editor to join our dynamic team located in the heart of downtown Vancouver.

The successful applicant will be responsible for editing video and audio on a non-linear system for news, sports and feature stories in a fast-

paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Edit news and sports stories for daily newscasts, as well as consumer and in-depth features, using the highest professional technical and journalistic standards
  • Ensure completion of the products in a timely fashion
  • Verify the quality of the product before going to air
  • Accountable for raising issues of concern for legal, ethical or technical matters
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Critical competencies :

  • Post-secondary diploma in television production, art & media technology, or other related fields
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience in a news environment
  • Knowledge of non-linear editing systems
  • Proven news judgment and creativity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of technical broadcast equipment
  • Ability to work under time pressures and handle stress
  • Preferred competencies :

  • Skilled user of Adobe Premiere; familiar with other Adobe programs such as After Effects and Photoshop
  • Detail-oriented
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as with assigned reporters in a respectful and collaborative manner
  • LI-SH
  • Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
