Description : This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a legal professional with a background in business development.
Our client, an established and reputable insurance company, is looking for an individual that will be passionate about helping to build a niche insurance market in Canada.
Reporting to the Director, Business Development, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, taking into account both profitability and growth, as well as educating the legal industry on this niche insurance product.
This role involves :
Assisting in development and implementation of sales strategies
Reviewing, investigating, and responding to brokers re : prospective partner law firm referrals, and issuing quotes for insurance programs as required
Selecting and approaching prospective partner law firms directly in order to establish business relationship and sell insurance programs to law firms
Planning and executing insurance implementation process for new firms
Educating prospective and current partner law firms with respect to insurance procedures and policy function
Assisting in individual case underwriting and handling
Acting as an ambassador for the company and promoting the strategy and values of the organization
Communicating with media and liaising with marketing department with respect to legal industry publications
Maintaining relationships with key brokers, principals, law firms and members of the insurance and legal communities
Maintaining flexibility and adaptability in order to coordinate new projects and company strategies
Acting as point of contact for lawyers and law firms re : legal and policy function queries
Assisting in the development of office staff in field of responsibility
Maintaining internal relationship with company staff
You are the ideal candidate if you :
Have at least five years experience in the Canadian legal industry
Have a law degree and legal practice experience
Have good knowledge of the legal community and well-regarded by lawyers
Have a valid Driver’s License
Are RIBO licensed
Have a high degree of professional ethics, honesty and integrity
Have high energy and good organizational skills
Are a motivated, proactive and a fast learner
Are deadline driven with the ability to multi-task
Are detail and solutions oriented
Are passionate about playing an integral role in an entrepreneurial operation
Are driven, results-oriented and meet targets consistently with top quality work
Possess confidence, astute business sense, and superior communication skills
