Cogeco Peer 1 is seeking an exceptional and experienced Product Manager to drive the vision, strategy, and execution of their connectivity portfolio.
As part of the global team, the Product Manager is responsible for managing the full range of connectivity solutions that are central to Cogeco Peer 1’s differentiation in the market.
Job Overview & Responsibilities
This is an amazing opportunity for someone who can bring combined technical and business acumen to stabilize and grow our rich Connectivity Portfolio.
You will manage the P&L of your portfolio, as well as the complete lifecycle of the products within your line of business (Connectivity), including market analysis, New Product Introduction, and End of Life.
You will do this as part of a global Product Management team working very closely with a highly talented team of Product Managers, Product Owners, Marketing Managers, Architects, and Engineers.
As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for researching and defining the product roadmap, creating the product vision and strategy, and helping to plan for execution.
Through continual evaluation and development of the product portfolio, you will have the opportunity to respond to customer feedback and market intelligence data to deliver disruptive value propositions with true business outcomes.
This is a hands-on role in which you will be expected to work alongside sales, finance, technical architects and engineers, customer support teams, as well as senior executives, to ensure the growth and success of the Connectivity Portfolio.
The role will be based out of our Toronto, Canada location.
In a typical day, you will :
Help define the product vision and strategy for our Connectivity Portfolio, and present them to executives, internal stakeholders, and customers.
Work with Stakeholders to define the scope of a world-class connectivity and transport offering.
Apply your knowledge of connectivity building blocks like Cloud on-ramps, SD-WAN, MPLS, IPVPN, WDM, Dedicated Internet, NNI’s, cross-connects, etc.
Oversee, support, and champion initiatives across teams to translate product and service delivery strategies into successful business models by utilizing expert thought leadership, agile delivery, and change management skills through effective collaboration and influence.
Use analysis of target market trends to enhance or distinguish product placement as well as maintain product requirements within the competitive arena.
Develop and present compelling business cases and product positioning in the marketplace.
Define pricing strategies, product features as well as all service and support aspects of the overall Connectivity Portfolio.
Ability to work closely and effectively in a cross-functional team, to prioritize requirements for a strong product offering in the market.
Own global product roadmap and success metrics of Connectivity Portfolio.
Manage cross-functional collaboration with product marketing, support, data center services, sales, and sales engineering to help define and shape the go-
to-market strategy for your products.
Own product lifecycle and have a point of view on change management in all aspects of new product introduction and sustaining efforts.
Identify and maintain relationships with product partners, third party vendors.
Evangelize our current solutions internally and externally via blogs, conferences and customer meet-ups.
Deep understanding of the ITC market, with a focus on connectivity.
Experience within a Product Management role.
Strong technical competence with keen business acumen to ensure credibility.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to take complex technical concepts and communicate them simply and effectively to a non-technical audience.
A desire to expand knowledge of sales, marketing, and general business management.
Ability to develop good relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas. Strong customer facing capabilities.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to work both independently and on cross-functional teams.
Ability to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
Minimum of 3-7 years’ experience in Product Management or related role.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Technology required, MBA strongly desired.
Pronounced communication skill set to drive technical team as well as executive level conversations on assigned projects.
Connectivity product experience required.
