The Faculty of Social Work is inviting applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position.

The Faculty’s Mission Statement reads :

The social work program of education, research and community service is designed to prepare students for critical generalist social work practice with diverse peoples.

Informed by the principles of indigenization, sustainability and social justice, the social work program encourages students to identify the needs of the disadvantaged, marginalized and oppressed.

It supports students in developing the commitment, knowledge, values, attitudes, and skills required to confront structural inequalities, and to empower individuals, families, and communities to realize their full potential.

  • Applications are invited from those with an interest and background in teaching and research in the following social work areas : direct social work practice with individuals, families, groups or communities;
  • research and practice, from an anti-oppressive social work perspective, which includes : child welfare, human rights, population health, gender, disability, aging, Indigenous methodologies, decolonizing practices,

    multicultural and immigrant issues. The preferred candidate will have knowledge and expertise in quantitative methods in social work research.

    The successful candidate duties will include teaching at the BSW and MSW levels, conducting research, supervising graduate students, and contributing to the administrative structure of the Faculty of Social Work.

    The Faculty of Social Work has campuses in Regina, Saskatoon and Prince Albert. This position is located at the Regina Campus.

    Preference will be given to Indigenous applicants.

    The appointment will begin January 1, 2021.

    Position Requirements

    The minimum requirements call for a graduate degree in Social Work and a record of research and teaching in the areas of social work practice, education, or policy.

    A completed Ph.D. in Social Work is preferred; however ABD will be considered. A completed Ph.D. in other related disciplinary areas may be considered.

    The salary will be commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.

    Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Assistant Professor Salary Range $89,914 - $113,562 Status Permanent Work Hours

    Per contractual agreement.
