What is the opportunity?

As a Senior Execution Assurance Specialist you help minimize project risk and improve project delivery confidence. You provide independent and objective compliance evaluation of all projects ($250M+) within Wealth Management Technology & Solutions in meeting the enterprise project policy risk and Technology and Operations project audit requirements.

You communicate project compliance and recommendations to improve project delivery execution.

You provide consulting, coaching, training and support to Project / Program Management practitioners in applying RBC project frameworks, best practices, and artefacts.

Candidates fit the following profile :

  • Seasoned project / product delivery professional (Product Manager / Owner, Program Manager, Project Manager, Business Analyst) who has experience working with risk and compliance groups
  • Detail-oriented - working with lots of data in a large portfolio excites you
  • Change agent you challenge the ways things are done and influence others for better outcomes driving continuous improvement comes naturally to you
  • Change management wizard you know change is hard but that a good change management strategy makes it less painful
  • Lead with empathy you seek to understand your stakeholders’ problems and needs and know that empathy is essential to any successful solution
  • What will you do?

  • Influence risk policy requirements as a representative from Wealth Management to align with our agile ways of working and streamline and reduce work for project practitioners.
  • Act as change champion employing change management best practices to roll out risk policy and project execution changes to practitioners to ensure adoption.
  • Work to automate early detection of non-compliance to key risks and controls; coach practitioners when out of compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations to Project Delivery Office (PDO) leadership for reducing risk and improving project execution quality.
  • Provide Project Managers and Scrum Masters with consulting and coaching on Project Governance and RBC Project Management processes and best practices
  • Time Allocation : Delivery Execution coaching and controls verification - 40%, Enterprise risk policy stakeholder : 20%, Change management activities : 20%, Reporting - 20%
  • What do you need to succeed?

    Must-have

  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, iterative, waterfall), program governance, risk assessment, issue escalation and resolution, change management, budgeting, project cost management, project plan development & management and scheduling methodology.
  • Proven experience influencing policy outcomes and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Experience utilizing lean-agile, six-sigma or other process improvement frameworks.
  • Knowledge of SDLC and related project governance standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills proven ability to communicate at the Senior Management / Executive level.
  • This includes the ability to manage challenging conversations.

  • Advanced user of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Nice-to-have

  • Has managed projects with significant risk, compliance, legal, privacy aspect and / or third party vendors
  • Has successfully managed programs or large cross-enterprise projects
  • Has been a scrum master
  • Has managed technical projects
  • Advanced knowledge of project management tools
  • Ability to connect to databases and query using SQL
  • Experience with data visualizations using tableau or other BI tools
