If you are a motivated IT Specialist, the CRA Microsoft Dynamics CRM application development team wants you! As an IT Specialist at CRA, you will design, develop, maintain and support applications developed using MS Dynamics CRM.

You will also support other developers through the full application development life cycle and work in close collaboration with the Senior IT Specialist and / or Team Leader.

On a daily basis, you will lead and promote ITB processes, procedures, corporate components, standards and best practices in support of the development of MS Dynamics CRM applications.

Key Responsibilities :

The selected candidate will be responsible for key activities in the following categories : development, delivery, enhancement, integration, maintenance and support the operation of IT products, solutions and services.

These activities include, but are not limited to :

  • Conducting technical research and developing business cases and long-term plans, cost / benefit analyses, feasibility studies, and technical specifications and documentation
  • Developing, testing and implementing IT solutions and products
  • Identifying, developing, reviewing, and evolving best practices, standards, operating procedures, and processes
  • Identifying, researching, evaluating and recommending the acquisition of products and services
  • Providing recommendations, demonstrations, and presentations to colleagues, clients, and management
  • Various language requirements : Bilingual Imperative BBB / BBB OR English Essential

    Most positions will be located at 21 Fitzgerald, Ottawa.

    This process may be used to staff similar positions within ITB, at various locations in Ottawa.

    Who can apply

    Employees of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) AND federal public service employees in organizations found under Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act that are :

  • Substantive CS-03 employees AND
  • Physically working in the National Capital Region (NCR)
  • AND eligible veterans and Canadian Armed Forces members

    AND individuals with preferred status who live or work within the general rule of minimum distance of the position(s) being staffed.

    Essential staffing requirements

    To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements.


  • the CRA’s minimum education standard for CS
  • Note : You must upload your education credentials in the education section of your Candidate Profile to demonstrate that you meet the essential education requirements.


    Have experience* in :

  • the development, enhancement or maintenance of applications built using MS Dynamics CRM
  • customizing and configuring solutions within MS Dynamics CRM version 2015 or greater
  • creating and modifying forms, dashboards and reports in MS Dynamics CRM
  • customizing the Sales or Service module(s) within MS Dynamics CRM version 2015 or greater
  • providing technical advice or recommendations to colleagues, clients or management
  • Experience is normally associated with the performance of these functions as part of the major job duties accomplished for a period of not less than 3 cumulative years within the last 5.

  • Dependability (pass mark : 70%)
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines (pass mark : 70%)
  • Results from locally developed assessment tools are not portable to other staffing processes.
