TFS has two campuses in Toronto (age 2 to Level V) and Mississauga (PK to Grade 7). About the position The TFS Foundation is entering a major capital campaign.

In this role, you will be supporting both the Director of Philanthropy and the President of the Foundation in major gift activities, including conducting prospect research, preparing for donor and senior volunteer meetings, and tracking pertinent information on Raiser’s Edge.

You will be reporting to the Director of Philanthropy. As an integral part of the major gifts team, you will receive mentoring and great exposure to the major gift fundraising world by being responsible for the following :

  • Coordinate the schedules of the President of the Foundation and Director of Philanthropy, particularly with regards to meetings with donors and senior volunteers
  • Assist in preparations for meetings with donors, senior volunteers and colleagues including : coordinating meeting schedules, preparing meeting materials, briefing notes, and presentations and arranging room bookings / catering
  • Prepare communications on and for donors, volunteers and colleagues such as : biographical profiles, briefing notes for meetings, meeting agendas, letters, reports, presentations and proposals
  • Prepare prospect and donor research profiles to contribute to fundraising strategy
  • Take meeting minutes when appropriate
  • Assist in moves management tracking
  • Ensure maintenance of prospect and donor records in Raiser’s Edge, including records inputting, updating information, reporting and actions tracking
  • Develop standard Raiser’s Edge reports and tracking mechanisms
  • Support volunteers on follow up activities with potential donors
  • Act as a member of the team to help coordinate institutional events
  • Assist in preparing stewardship reports and activities as needed
  • Other projects / duties as assigned

  • Fundraising

  • Qualifications :

  • Relevant university degree and / or post graduate certificate (or equivalent) in fundraising, project management or administration
  • Required competencies :

  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent communication skills (writing and verbal)
  • Knowledge of French or Mandarin is a definite asset
  • Experience with donor stewardship
  • Understanding the importance of the donor cycle to contribute to an exceptional donor experience
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with Google docs
  • Good time management and project management skills
  • Very well organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Adaptable to changing needs
  • Works well independently and as a team player
  • Proactive problem solver, solution oriented, displaying a sound decision-making ability with a positive "can do" attitude
