Job Purpose :

Supports Process Engineering and Operations by ensuring processes and manufacturing systems are operating in an efficient manner.

Essential Job Results :

Hands-on shop floor experience to supports Operation to ensure processes are being operating efficiently and all operational and quality KPIs are being met

Project management and leads the CFT (Cross Functional Team) in root cause problem solving techniques to resolve operational problems

Supports operations to maintain process cycle times, monitor procedures and methods to promote manufacturing efficiency

Control all process related documents including Operator work instructions, Process Check / Poka Yoke Sheets

Assist with equipment and personnel readiness during new launches including Subcontractors equipment run-off’s

Knowledge and experience with vision systems and common process sensors would be an asset

Participate and investigate in corrective and preventative action plans to address product, process and system non-conformances and submit finding reports as per OEM requirements

Participates in daily production / accountability meetings and weekly reporting out PDCA for all process related issues

Participate in all Process and / or equipment trouble shooting initiatives

Conduct CI (continuous improvement) activities to improve process quality, throughput, material flow and time studies, including implementation of necessary part design or process changes with necessary input from customers and vendors.

Conduct structured process review meetings with internal team on a weekly basis

Support engineering on design for manufacturability activities to provide input at early process design phase

Expedites customer required engineering models by coordinating design information with subcontracted

model makers or use of CAD.

Assists with developing checking gage designs by coordinating combined efforts of in-house Quality Control

Implements customer required engineering changes by coordinating activities of in-house production, Quality Control, and related sub-contractors.

Train workers regarding new work instructions and process improvement techniques to support CI activities

Supports manufacturing group with their problem solving by coordinating design and manufacturing changes

Research new product / process development by working with sub-contractors and implementing new ideas.

Ensures job safety / hazard analysis is completed for all jobs

Ensure PSHRS and other Safety requirements are met when launching new machinery

Working knowledge of automotive interior manufacturing processes would be an asset

Working knowledge of blow molding operations and process setting to improve machine efficiency and reduce scrap

Working Knowledge of GD&T

Knowledge of PLC programming and control systems would be an asset

Some travel required periodically in North America
