Job Description : Job Summary
The Team Leader Quality is responsible for managing all aspects of the Food Safety and Sanitation programs in accordance with accepted Good Manufacturing Practices as mandated by government agencies and Company policy and in accordance with customer-specific requirements.
This is a full-time, salaried position, in our Kitchener, Ontario facility, reporting to the Quality Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties
Support the Quality Manager in leading the facility’s efforts to maintain GFSI certification.
Maintain the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Program and lead the HACCP / Food Safety team. Responsibility for performing all hazard analysis on any new raw material or equipment introduced to the facility.
Liaise with raw ingredient suppliers to obtain current and accurate ingredient specifications, nutrient profiles, allergen surveys, recall contacts, GMO and Organic Certificates, Kosher Certificates, etc.
Develop, maintain and administer raw material, processing, packaging and product specifications.
Update and maintain the accuracy of the private label customer databases per specification.Develop Food Safety Training programs, provide training for production personnel as required and ensure employee understanding of training through verification activities.
Monitor and provide monthly reporting on key food safety measures (HACCP and Food Safety Prerequisite programs) and lead efforts to drive continuous improvement.
Investigate consumer / customer complaints, identify the appropriate corrective action, and provide a written resolution as needed to the Division Q & FS group and customers.
Assist the Quality Manager with regulatory audits, 3rd party inspections, Division audits and customer visits.
Represent the facility’s Q & FS group on special projects, process improvement efforts and supplier initiatives.
Develop professional relationships with facility leadership team members, Division Q & FS staff, R & D, suppliers, regulators and auditors to ensure Division product safety strategies are implemented.
Provide back-up support in the absence of the Quality Manager.
