TPD has partnered with Securiguard , an industry leading security solutions company based in Edmonton. We are currently in search for accountable and eager Operations Manager to join their growing team! Working with Securiguard's internal and external stakeholders, the Operations Manager - Industrial Accounts, oversees the security and operational performance for all of Securiguard’s Industrial Operations for the Alberta region.

The role of the Operations Manager , Industrial Accounts is to ensure the safety & security regulations, policies and procedures are followed to ensure the efficient and safe operation of all Securiguard in-field work in order to deliver projects according to plan for Securiguard and its Alberta clients.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING :

  • Establishes security objectives, goals, processes and plans in support of divisional and corporate strategic directions.
  • Assist in the identification and management of security and related risks (including emergency response planning) to ensure best practices, business resilience, and the protection of personnel, infrastructure, and equipment including information security issues.
  • Assist in the provision of comprehensive, efficient, cost effective operational and tactical security service and strategic advice to our clients
  • Participates in the Occupational Safety and Health Committee at Head Office and assists with OS&H committees at client sites as needed.
  • Conduct presentations to present clients, and prospective clients on the service offerings available.
  • Responsible for conducting site reviews, writing audit / review reports, reviewing findings, and making recommendations to General Manager
  • Resource and support for planning, developing and implementing security plans, security programs such as Emergency Response and Crisis Management, Physical Security, Information Protection, Incident Management and / or Investigation.
  • Responsible to perform annual risk analysis for the Operational sites within their responsibility, including but not limited to disaster recovery plan, critical incident command process and protocol, etc.
  • Provides leadership, advice and counsel to all site security team members in achieving current and long rage strategic program objectives.
  • Serves as lead in regards to conducting investigations of significant threats and / or the loss or misappropriation of assets for clients / sites, employee discipline, and as directed by the General Manager.
  • Performs incident analysis and investigation relative to all incidents with advice and closure to all stakeholders.
  • Responsibility for budgets; ensuring proper controls and management to achieve deliverables to clients and the company
  • Manage all employee relations vacation / leave / day-off requests, transfers, coaching, deportment reinforcement, discipline, recognition and development.
  • Maintain Security Operations Manuals / post orders and all site directives with updates annually
  • Ensure that the appropriate level of training is provided for all security staff on disasters; fire and bomb procedures;
  • use of technical equipment and routine security duties. Ensure that knowledge is tested quarterly

  • The investigation of security breaches and the disciplinary and legal matters associated with such breaches as necessary.
  • Maintain record of complex industry trends, current macro and micro level security issues and technologies and provide report to the General Manager on a regular basis on risk and threat that could impact the business.
  • Identifies any operational compliance exposures and to recommend and develop corrective plans as appropriate in line with company policy
  • Provide technical and operational direction for Force Protection, Access Control, Asset Protection, Physical Security, Formal Inquiries, and Facilities security implementation
  • WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE :

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience as a manager in an operational setting combined with or in addition to working in the security industry or law enforcement preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in loss prevention, security or law enforcement with experience in large or multiple sites
  • Experience in an operational setting involving the management and supervision of a large number of staff members
  • Security professional with a proven management experience within the security industry, the public sector or armed services is an asset
  • Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent communication, influencing, negotiating and engagement skills
  • Sound judgment and decision making skills, with a 'hands on', problem solving approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents
  • Experience of writing procedures, drafting reports, preparing business cases and compiling and adjusting duty rosters to meet shortfalls in staffing levels
