Job Overview

  • The Food and Beverage Supervisor will be working closely with both Banquets and F&B Outlets. The F&B Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the planning and managing of the Restaurant & Bar, Room Service and other food and beverage outlets;
  • and for facilitating banquet function and meeting in order to achieve customer satisfaction and quality service.

    Duties and Responsibilities


  • Open and close shift in accordance with manager's checklist. Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Restaurant, lounge and Banquets
  • Initiate guest interaction through seeking and soliciting feedback from guests
  • Maintain and enforce all service standards, food and beverage and guest service quality using records, menus and appropriate reference materials
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through excellent customer service and meet or exceed GSS score
  • Gather and implement all proper tools for running shift, (e.g., schedules, floor plans, reservations). Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment for all associates and guests
  • During shift, ensure that guests are satisfied by assisting with serving, seating, and communication with kitchen and by striving to speak to all guests
  • Find solutions for problems such as call outs, bookings or any other daily problems that may arise. Handle daily associate relations (e.
  • g., scheduling, time adjustments)

  • Monitor hours and staffing on a daily basis, for restaurant, with accurate scheduling in line with forecast and budget guidelines
  • Assist any associate in his / her job performance, when required, to ensure guest satisfaction. Ensure all side work is done on daily basis
  • Be on the floor during entire meal classes and ensure adequate coverage. Exercise station rotation to ensure stations are distributed fairly
  • Properly execute revenue and check control procedures on shift
  • Ensure that only a quality product is being served
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with the team, union and other departments
  • Liaise with Kitchen staff when necessary
  • Ensure that all beverage associates are trained and in compliant in proper cash handling procedure
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager

  • Implement an effective training program for new and current associates using use records, menus and appropriate reference manuals
  • Encourage problem solving by associates through proper training and empowerment. Demonstrate positive inter-departmental relations
  • Establish effective communication with associates to gain their trust and respect
  • Maintain fair and consistent counseling and / or disciplinary procedures in accordance with the Collective Agreement
  • Administrative

  • Communicative directly, and / or through the use of the daily log and email, to next shift supervisor
  • Identify and recommend incentive programs, new ideas and methods of operation
  • Implement and follow through on all bookings of restaurant parties, room service and banquet rooms and effectively communicate to all managers
  • Assist in the development and execution of the marketing plan of assigned outlets
  • Qualifications and Requirements

  • Post-Secondary education in a related field; plus a minimum of two years of previous Food & Beverage experience in a hotel, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree and / or Hotel Management degree / diploma preferred

  • Must be available to work morning, afternoon & evening shift, as assigned
  • Must have good wine, beer and cocktail knowledge
  • Must have Food Safe certificate
  • Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment with a proven ability to innovate
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail
