Your Opportunity :
This position provides PT service at two sites; 3 days a week at the Daysland Health Centre and 2 days per week at the Hardisty Health Centre.
Hardisty time includes coverage for acute care, long term care and outpatients. Daysland time includes coverage for acute care and 10 rehab beds.
Service for Daysland rehab beds is provided as part of a multidisciplinary team working with the patients to set and work towards functional goals.
As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services within a program or service area.
You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. As a Physiotherapist II, you will be responsible to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team where you will be an integral member, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals.
You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient / family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-
up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care.
You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines.
You will be providing coordination of the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-
up and feedback to staff. You will be participating in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs.
You will be making decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow and caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers.
Required Qualifications :
Completion of master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience.
Active or eligible registration and practice permit with Physiotherapy Alberta College + Association.
Additional Required Qualifications :
Able to work independently with a variety of clients in a variety of settings.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with physiotherapy in a rural setting preferred.
