Duties and Responsibilities :

Reporting to the Person Responsible for Quality Assurance (PRQA), the role of Quality Assurance Auditor holds the dual function of QA Auditor and Technical Training within the Kenn Borek Air Quality Assurance Program :

  • responsible to ensure the maintenance program is compliant with the Canadian Aviation Regulations(CARs) and the Maintenance Control / Policy / Quality Manuals (MCM / MPM / MQM).
  • The QA Auditor will audit, evaluate and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • responsible for the theoretical and practical technical training for Kenn Borek Air’s maintenance department. This position will be responsible to maintain all related maintenance training curriculums and online training programs.
  • Auditor :

    Ensure that the quality and airworthiness standards of Transport Canada are met, while also ensuring compliance with the requirements of CARs and the MCM / MPM.

  • Communicate, clarify, and comply with applicable audit requirements
  • Plan, execute audits, prepare reports and follow up on corrective actions
  • Perform base audits and supplier audits
  • Review with the Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) all audit findings
  • Verify effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Identify, recommend, or provide solutions to quality problems
  • Will have complete understanding of company documentation requirements and applies that knowledge by :

  • Ensuring the timely amendment, maintenance and distribution of all manuals
  • Ensuring proper documentation of amendments to manuals
  • Assist in maintaining historical records for internal publications
  • Assist with monitoring and analyzing aircraft reliability and technical information
  • Assist with monitoring aircraft technical records
  • Participating in assessment of ADs, SBs and Technical Bulletins
  • Assist with producing and distributing Maintenance Alerts to appropriate staff
  • Assist with developing QA related policies and procedures as required
  • Technical Training :

  • New Employee indoctrination
  • Theoretical and practical training
  • Aircraft type course training
  • Maintenance systems and processes training
  • Human factors training
  • Aircraft configuration and differences training
  • Safety and Auditor training
  • Update and review of existing training curriculum
  • Development of new training and training materials and curriculum
  • Liaise with post holders and stake holders to identify course requirements
  • Safety :

    Ensure safe work practices are applied in all job duties :

  • Support the Safety Management System
  • Ensure all employees wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, understand and apply the Risk Management System, apply safe handling practices, and comply with all company operating and safety procedures
  • Ensure all materials, work instructions, and drawings necessary to achieve goals and targets are available
  • Knowledge and Certification :

  • Valid Transport Canada AME license preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ aviation quality management or ISO / COR auditor certified
  • Strong working knowledge of the types of aircraft supported by the AMO
  • Strong understanding of Transport Canada regulations CARs as applicable
  • Proficient computer skills : MS Word, MS Excel and AMS Maintenance Software
