We have an exciting opportunity opening as a Senior Tax Analyst.

  • Interpret and translate tax legislation into logical algorithms that are used to create our tax offerings.
  • Communicate with government agencies to ensure our tax offerings are compliant with government requirements and products are certified in the designated software release timelines.
  • Validate tax scenarios for accuracy and completeness, focusing on the customer’s entire tax experience across products.
  • Collaborate with the software developers and other tax analysts on the team to develop tax content and ensure product quality.
  • Work with Product Management and Marketing to understand strategies, new opportunities, and new features that affect tax requirements, scenarios and experiences.
  • Provide input sales and marketing teams to help create accurate and concise tax information that will be used to disseminate to media or online social sites.
  • Help Customer Care / Support to understand customer issues and leverage your subject matter expertise in the design of solutions.
  • This may include direct communication with customers.

  • Contribute to innovation projects within the development organization.
  • Identify and participates in the implementation of process improvements.
  • Recognize, escalate, and help manage issues that could have a significant impact on our government agency partnerships, customers and other stakeholders.
  • Qualifications

  • Publicly recognized accounting designation(e.g. CPA) is required
  • 5+ years of experience in tax field (public accounting firm preferred) with advanced knowledge of Canadian tax accounting, including : preparing a variety of federal and provincial returns for individuals (T1) OR corporation (T2)
  • Understanding of tax filing agency requirements and being able to apply the tax knowledge to meet those requirements in the software development cycle
  • Comprehensive knowledge of tax accounting processes, needs and practice. Thoroughly understands the product from the accountant end-to-end point of view
  • Ability to prioritize the work backlog by given guiding principles and to drive the initiatives within a teamwork / collaboration environment
  • Fundamental knowledge of software requirements definition, project management, programming and / or computer operations experience
