3D Graphics Tool Developer


The AMD Software Tools team is tasked with creating and supporting multiple test applications which target all aspects of software development for AMD graphics products on PC platforms.

Software engineers on the team apply industrial leading technologies and system programming C++ skills in both Windows and Linux environment.


  • Maintain and support a Direct3D / Vulkan / OpenGL / OpenCL tool in the AMD product development workflow
  • Design and develop support for new features in Direct3D / Vulkan / OpenGL / OpenCL
  • Research and innovate new features to expand new use cases
  • Responsible for timely delivery of tasks assigned by team lead or manager
  • Adhering to team’s development process and coding standards
  • Writing design documents and user guides
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Perform unit testing and release testing
  • Proving periodic status updates and occasional presentations

  • University degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Strong C++ programming experience
  • Experienced in system level programming
  • Experienced with multiple Operating Systems (Windows and Linux)
  • Skilled in system level coding and debugging with Visual Studio and gdb
  • Ability to organize and manage priorities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Works effectively both independently and in a team environment

  • Experienced in Direct3D / OpenGL / OpenCL / Vulkan programming, or taken Computer Graphics courses
  • Experienced in video gaming development
  • Experienced in image processing or image compression
  • Experienced with Git and / or Perforce

  • BA or BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required
