DEPARTMENT : Engagement Quality & Improvement

EQI is comprised of separate sub-departments, or centres of excellence, falling under the same umbrella : Primary & Community Care Transformation, Quality Impact Centre of Expertise , Engagement Centre of Expertise and JCC Secretariat.

EQI works in large part to support the Joint Clinical Committees (JCCs) : General Practices Services Committee (GPSC), Shared Care Committee (SCC), and Specialist Services Committee (SSC).

Driven by collaborative relationships between the Ministry of Health and Doctors of BC and captured under the Physician Master Agreement, they are a group focused on developing and leveraging relationships, sharing knowledge and lessons learned and working together towards common goals to support improved patient outcomes, increased professional satisfaction and decreased system costs.

THE TEAM : Primary & Community Care Transformation - Development & Learning

The Primary & Community Care Transformation Team provides leadership, partnership, networking and project management support to establish Patient Medical Homes, Primary Care Networks and Team-Based Care through relationships with Divisions of Family Practice, Health Authorities and First Nations, and direct supports to physician practices.

As part of the Primary & Community Care Transformation team, the Development and Learning Team leads the design and implementation of GPSC’s development and learning strategies for multiple and diverse stakeholder groups.

THE JOB : Administrative Assistant, Development and Learning (18 month Contract)

Reporting to the Manager, Development and Learning, the Administrative Assistant is an integral part of the Learning and Development team responsible for providing administrative support to the Manager and other team members on assigned initiatives, projects and / or working groups.

As the key individual supporting the coordination of the team’s workflow and communications, the Administrative Assistant must have excellent organizational and communication skills to proactively assist the team meet deadlines, anticipates challenges, and finds ways to address them.

Initiative and strong interpersonal skills are required in working collaboratively with individuals from across the organization.

Due to the nature of the Team’s work and the variety of work that may be assigned to the Administrative Assistant, diplomacy, attention to detail and a strong knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products is essential.

This position will work full-time on an 18 month contract.

    WHAT YOU BRING

  • High school graduation and some related work experience; OR an equivalent level of related work experience, education and / or training may also be considered
  • Excellent writing skills and proven ability to develop clear, concise and comprehensive written communication
  • Excellent judgment in setting priorities, identifying issues and determining action required when working under pressure and deadlines
  • Superior interpersonal, oral communication and relationship management skills
  • Adept at balancing major concurrent tasks and projects
  • Proven ability to respond to a wide variety of issues and deal with unclear situations and conflicting demands, and to seek leadership direction and support with priority setting when needed
  • Excellent computer skills using Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of the team
