Job Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to join a dynamic HR team in supporting leaders and employees in the achievement of Central 1’s objectives ?

In the role of HR Generalist, you will have ability to expand your knowledge of HR knowledge through areas of recruitment, compensation and benefits.

Acting as the preliminary point of contact in our HR offices, you will be relied on by employees and leaders to provide information and advice.

As the HR Generalist your awesomeness will be relied upon to :

  • Act as a knowledgeable resource to respond to general requests and enquiries and provides information according to established policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and coaching on the implementation of HR policies and procedures to leaders; acting as a positive change agent for implementation of new initiatives.
  • Support the operational execution on annual HR programs such as benefits re-enrollment, vacation administration, total compensation statements, harassment awareness workshops, flu shot clinic, etc.
  • Manage full end to end recruitment, supporting business partners for designated client groups
  • Create and facilitate an engaging onboarding process for new hires, sharing benefits and clarifying terms of employment.
  • Execute the internal movements and offboarding of employees with accuracy and knowledge of Provincial Standards Act.
  • Utilize your strong attention to detail to update and ensure the accuracy of data in HR-related systems such as Workday, ATS, and SuccessFactors, etc.
  • Update, maintain and produce summary reports from HR programs including the HRIS, Performance Management and Recruitment programs.
  • Facilitate the disability claims, record keeping & reporting process with the leader and designated HR Business Partner
  • Act as the recording secretary for the Ontario Health and Safety Committee and ensures mandatory training for AODA and OHS is completed for all new Ontario hires.
  • Maintain employee files including ensuring that all records are filed, and that all employment related documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Provide coverage and support for other HR team members and provides project management support as required.
  • Qualifications

    As our ideal candidate, you :

  • Carry at least 3 5 years experience in HR
  • Possess an Undergraduate degree, diploma or certificate in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Are a whiz at the Microsoft Office Suite of programs, particularly Excel and have experience with Human Resource Information System (HRIS) programs.
  • Work well as part of team (onsite and remote) and can build strong relationships but can also work autonomously
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and decision making skills and are a critical thinker
  • Use your curiosity to find solutions with the intent to provide a positive customer experience for your stakeholders
  • Courageously work to identify and solve problems in a structured and analytical way and provide innovative ideas towards challenges
  • Collaborative and enthusiastic in championing Corporate and HR initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills : ability to prioritize and multi-task are essential, proven attention to details, and the ability to fulfil responsibilities independently.
  • Proven track record of showing initiative and urgency to solve problems and follow up on the solution.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of HR best practices, with respect to provincial and federal employment legislation, employment development and workforce planning.
  • A reputation of maintaining confidentiality is essential.
