What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will be responsible to provide leadership and direction to the processing and client facing teams of Transaction Management Canada.

Working with the local leadership of the broader Transaction Management team. You will be responsible to establish goals and departmental direction to support overall strategy in Transaction Management, as well as lead and direct securities trade processing and settlement follow-up activity.

In addition, you will be responsible for increasing the operational / administrative effectiveness and cost effectiveness of the Transaction Processing team through a focus on increasing quality and efficiency of staff through the efficient use of performance measurement metrics, functionalization and standardization of all processes.

You will focus on continuous development of the most efficient and effective organization structures & programs for the group, with a particular focus on providing value added services and ensuring our clients receive an exceptional experience.

You will be accountable for Transaction Management Operations within the Canadian Operations Group and in alignment of the global operating model.

What will you do?

  • Ensure quality of service delivered is in line with SLA’s in place and there is superior quality, timeliness and cost effective information delivery to internal and external clients.
  • Responsible for increasing the operating effectiveness of the processing team through a focus on increasing efficiency through the use of performance measurement metric
  • Oversee teams responsible for the accurate and timely processing in line with internal policies, client requirements and well as external regulatory requirements on behalf of various Investment Managers
  • Represent Transaction Management in client due diligence meetings, RFP presentations and general client meetings.
  • Develop & implement comprehensive operating procedures that ensure the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of all processes.
  • Establish an environment of continuous improvement that assesses workflow, processes and procedures on an ongoing basis, ensuring maximum efficiency and quality within the department.
  • Ensure appropriate procedures are adequate to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements as well as corporate audit and risk management requirements.
  • Mitigate financial / reputational risk by ensuring appropriate structure, resources, procedures and controls are developed and maintained in compliance with Regulatory requirements or company policies.
  • What do you need to succeed?

    Must-have

  • Successful completion of a University Degree in a related field
  • Seasoned experience in security operations and managing teams, with strong financial industry knowledge
  • Proven decision maker, able to lead in difficult situations, creatively problem solve and implement appropriate solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across jurisdictional, functional and cultural boundaries
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills, and superior stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong business acumen and profit orientation.
  • Strong talent management and leadership capabilities.
  • Track record of developing and implementing innovation and change.
  • Nice-to-have

  • Post graduate degree (MBA or equivalent)
  • Project Management experience
