Job Overview : Pet Valu is looking for a dynamic individual with experience and passion for using data and analytics to drive business results.

As a member of the Marketing team, the Sr Analyst, Marketing Analytics will contribute to strategic workstreams to optimize campaigns across various marketing platforms.

This involves developing, validating and scaling analytics-driven contact strategies through rapid test and learn across a variety of programs and channels, working with key business partners.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analytical projects : responsible for the deliverable in an individual capacity or in conjunction with others including analysis design, execution process, development and delivery of business and / or customer insights
  • Develop recommendations and test plans to optimize campaigns (email, in-store, online / digital) including audience targeting, product and offer recommendation, performance analysis and insights / recommendation development, etc.
  • Analyze customer and campaign performance trends, (including adhoc / custom requests from internal business partners), and effectively present the key findings to business partners.
  • Recommend changes to contact strategy or content of marketing campaigns, and identify opportunities for new campaigns
  • Conduct analysis (hands-on) on customer and campaign data using analytical and statistical tools such as Tableau / SQL / Python to uncover insights and program recommendations
  • Collaborate on developing compelling stories in presentation or written format to answer critical business questions using data from a variety of sources such as customer, purchasing trends, campaign responses, web traffic, merchandising / product assortment, etc
  • Use a variety of software tools, such as spreadsheets, databases, reporting / analytical software, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and format data and reports.
  • Support ongoing post-event analysis of marketing programs including post-campaign digital reports (email, influencer, social, web)
  • Partner with marketing leadership to establish strategic marketing plans to achieve National and local campaign objectives
  • Work with IT and technical teams to define and automate regular tasks and reporting
  • Education & Experience

  • 3+ years' experience in conducting analytics and applying analytics to influence business decisions in a retail or marketing organization
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Mathematics, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research or similar programs

  • Proficient in many tools
  • Very comfortable with MS office (Word / Excel / Access / PowerPoint) and Access queries, Excel pivot tables / V-lookups
  • Adept skills in SQL against relational databases
  • Ability in advanced analytical tools such as SAS, Python, R a strong plus
  • Experience in Tableau, or similar BI / Reporting tool critical
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO / SEM, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics
