Job Summary :
In this exciting new role we are looking for a team oriented coach with a positive attitude to become our new Accounts Payable Supervisor.
This person will manage all internal and external work processes of the Accounts Payable department and will be the Manager’s right hand.
Key responsibilities :
Review supplier invoices processed by the department for exactitude of supporting documentation, required approvals, and appropriate expense allocation to the general ledger;
Allocate expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing and recording entries;
Analyze supplier statements and follow up on missing invoices, and identify problems and assist employees in resolving work-related issues;
Provide support and training to the department employees and help the Manager with additional tasks for projects;
Take part in the month-end closing process to ensure the department meets deadlines;
Review and combine department accruals for accuracy and submission of journal entries.
To qualify for this role, you must have...
10+ years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in the retail industry;
DEC in accounting, finance, or related field preferred;
Experience working in a multi-currency environment;
High aptitude with computer systems, MS Dynamics Great Plains finance system is an asset;
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential;
Experience in leading a team (3 employees) and the ability to support, train, and coach colleagues;
Strong knowledge of direct and indirect tax implications of various types of transactions.
