On behalf of our client in the Banking Sector, PROCOM is looking for an Intermediate Financial Analyst to work with the Global Pensions Team to prepare monthly Pension Plan financial Statements.

Intermediate Financial Analyst - Global Pensions - Job Description

  • Prepare the monthly financial statements, and the annual audited financial statements including note disclosures for the five pension and benefit funded trusts
  • Review and analyze pension fund’s risk exposure on financial instruments
  • Prepare working papers for external and internal auditors and handle their follow up questions
  • Perform analytical reviews and reconciliations
  • Maintain Pension and Benefits funds’ books of account
  • Prepare cash transfer instructions to custodian
  • Prepare financial reporting for regulatory filings and for industry pension plan reporting
  • Prepare reconciliation of investment portfolios with custodial records
  • Liaise with custodian, investment managers and payroll service provider to resolve transaction discrepancies relating to investment instruction, expense and benefit payments, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual administrative expense budgets and perform on-going variance analysis of the pension fund administrative expenses
  • Assist in accounting standard change implementations as required
  • Work with our partner Accenture to ensure monthly journal entries are booked correctly as part of the month end close cycle
  • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly and annual note disclosure for Post-employment benefits
  • Review the monthly SOX control file
  • Monitor the Employer funding requirements of legal entities and ensure correct posting
  • Reconciliations and analysis of financial statement accounts
  • Initiate and implement continuous process improvements
  • Manage highly sensitive information and keen to details and accuracy
  • Manage the reporting of multiple legal entities and funds
  • Intermediate Financial Analyst - Global Pensions - Mandatory Skills

  • Strong excel and macro skills
  • Equivalent to University degree in Business / Accounting
  • Working towards or has achieved a recognized professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA, CA or CPA, CMA or CPA, CGA)
  • 4-5 years’ experience working as a Financial Analyst
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Intermediate Financial Analyst - Global Pensions - Nice to Have Skills

  • Understanding of Pension Accounting, Funding and Administration
  • Previous Banking or FI
