Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Support the growth of our consulting business by developing and implementing Business Development plans;
  • Subject matter expert for water resources on multi-disciplinary projects;
  • Provide senior technical support to hydrologists and surface water engineers in a variety of projects that cover the spectrum of the services listed above.;
  • Conduct senior technical reviews and ensure quality and consistency in Surface Water Practice deliverables on projects
  • Keeping abreast of local industrial / commercial / community business activities, plans and future developments
  • Foster mentoring and development of technical staff;
  • Fostering and managing effective relationships with existing and prospective clients and developing new business;
  • Participate actively and effectively in business development such as networking, presentations, negotiations, proposal preparation / writing etc.
  • Coordinate with the Practice Lead, Managing Consultants and other team members to ensure staffing levels are adequate for project needs;
  • Promote a culture of zero harm within the team and associated business;
  • Prepare report and proposals, attend and lead client meetings, and deliver client and industry facing project overviews and presentations;
  • Delivery of local projects in accordance with sound Project Management principles (i.e., maintain project quality, scope, schedule and budget);
  • Work as part of an integrated delivery team within our business, comprising other engineering disciplines, professional environmental scientists, project delivery and project support staff on existing and new Advisian / Worley projects.
  • What you bring to the team

  • BSc or BEng Degree in Hydrology, Water Resources, or equivalent, from an accredited institution;
  • Registered Professional in Canada;
  • 5+ years of related experience in the consulting industry;
  • Solid knowledge in water resources and its applications in Western Canada;
  • Solid understanding of the regulatory requirements in Canada;
  • Professional experience in industries such as upstream / downstream oil and gas, industrial and municipal development, mining, and oil sands developments;
  • Solid understanding of business development plans to deliver surface water services. Proven track record of identifying and successfully leading and winning strategic pursuits;
  • Solid understanding of the requirements for successful project management. Proven track record in managing projects as a Project Manager would be an asset;
  • Member of Professional and Technical Societies;
  • A high level of business acumen, business development, and client focus
  • Understands current water trends and influences on water resources;
  • Passionate about building / growing businesses, entrepreneurial, proactive;
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; and
  • Demonstrable commitment to HSE management.
