Reporting to the Manager, Forecasting & Business Planning, the Assistant Manager Forecasting & Business Planning will be a key contributing member of the Sales Strategy team.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain with a focus on data insights and analytics, trends, sales forecasting and program reviews, to collectively achieve Canopy Growth’s sales strategy and vision.
Develop, maintain and update monthly sales forecast in the planning software and become a gatekeeper for all assumptions
Continuously refine and adjust forecast assumptions by analyzing available data sources
Design, build and maintain adhoc tools and reports that support strategic business planning and analysis
Support Forecasting Manager to lead annual budget plans for Canadian Recreational Sales
Support the Manager, Forecasting & Business Planning in all Integrated Business Planning functions including :
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to aggregate and understand forecast inputs for bi-weekly IBP meetings.
Work with Innovation and Marketing teams to support forecasting of new innovations.
Acting as key support function for the Retail Operations team on cannabis business results and product supply.
Maintain and analyze competitive market information through consistent data collection and analysis of various POS data systems.
Responsible for the timely retrieval, processing, forecasting and analysis of business results and sales trends.
Work closely with the Sales, Marketing and Operations teams to provide insights into business performance and areas for improvement
Other duties as assigned
Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Statistics / Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an insights / analytics function providing actionable insights to internal or external clients
Proven experience in forecasting consumption, revenue and sizing the market for existing portfolio and innovation launches
Experience dealing with multiple sources of internal / external, structured / unstructured data
Advanced user of MS office suit (excel : Pivot Tables, Macros, VBA) and SQL
Hands-on proficient experience with visualization tools such as Tableau is considered an asset
Knowledge about promotional landscape and promotional optimisation techniques.
Knowledge of trade investment optimisation techniques.
Experience in Retail / CPG / Alcohol industry is considered an asset
