We are seeking a professional who will work with other members of the design team in order to develop design solutions appropriate to the context, budget and aesthetic requirements of architectural projects.
They will collaborate with other professional disciplines and have opportunities to coordinate the design through all phases of the project.
Duties and Responsibilities
Compiles information from reports and published documents; evaluates and analyzes the information to understand broad requirements of project
Develops architectural designs, to ensure an exemplary solution is delivered that meets quality parameters, project timelines and budgetary requirements
Coordinates and manages architectural and consultant team while reporting to the Project Manager or Team Lead
Integrates engineering requirements, site surveys and field review information, adhering to applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements
Provide technical and design guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges
Prepares design reports, drawings and models following office standards
Performs site visitations to determine compliance with construction documents; identifies any deviations and liaises with owner and contactor to resolve issues in a timely manner
Reviews project products, services, and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes and corporate quality controls
Performs product research; assists project designers with material selection and system research.
Analyzes and develops approaches to the creation and modification of architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, specifications, etc.

Experience with project lifecycle, concept phase through design development or later
Advanced architectural design skills in Revit are required; knowledge and skills of AutoCAD, SketchUp, PhotoShop, and other architectural design software are expected
Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, MEP and building structures
Have successfully completed related post-secondary education
Registered with a relevant professional architectural association is an asset
Ability to obtain federal government security clearance is mandatory
10+ years of project work experience
Experience with public clients and or public buildings is an asset
Mid-scale to large project experience
