We are seeking a dynamic and creative Director, Planning and Projects to provide leadership and strategic direction for the Vancouver Coastal region.

Your focus will be on site and facilities project planning, and the implementation of approved capital projects. Your background and real passion for site development, project planning, design and delivery will be critical.

Why is this role important?

You will lead site planning, business cases and feasibility study developments. Your extensive experience in project management will assist you in leading the budget control, procurement strategies, contraction negotiation and dispute resolution.

You will liaises internally with senior leaders, and externally with various levels of governments, agencies, foundations, private sector partners and community groups and represents LMFM.

Build on your education and career experience as you :

  • Effectively lead and develop a team of internal and external professionals managing a large number of planning and project delivery activities from concept to completion within a large, complex, multi-site organization
  • Lead facilities development including feasibility studies, master plans, space management, business cases, design, construction, contract management and procurement within current municipal, provincial and national standards, codes, bylaws and regulations applicable to health care
  • Develop, plan, and implement capital and operating budgets
  • Negotiate and facilitate consensus with external parties such as funding partners and authorities having jurisdiction
  • Are you motivated to join our team? We will be looking for you to have the following :

  • A master's degree and professional designation in a relevant discipline
  • Ten years' recent, related experience in progressively more complex and senior management, leadership roles in a large multi-
  • site organization with responsibilities for managing the planning, design and construction of major facilities projects

  • Experience with development of health care and / or other large institutional facilities is helpful
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
