For more than three decades, human space flight has been supported by advanced robotics developed by MDA. We have combined complex robotics with control software to develop the Space Shuttle's Canadarm and the Mobile Servicing System for the International Space Station.
Leveraging our expertise in robotic technology and space-borne sensing systems, MDA is developing sophisticated systems for on-orbit servicing of satellites and planetary missions to explore the Moon and Mars.
On Earth we are taking our experience in space robotics into new areas of advanced robotics for nuclear, medical, industrial, and mining applications.
MDA is currently seeking a candidate to support the Software Engineering Department with Database and Engineering Tools Application development on the Space Station Logistics and Sustaining Engineering (L&SE) program at MDA Brampton. The candidate will :
Developing new features for software, Implementing / Coding projects and bug fixes
Create test cases for implemented projects and bug fixes
Provide user support to resolve user issues
Work closely with front and backend developers to define database interface, model and engineer solutions that are performant and maintainable.
Development and maintenance of process, stored procedures, and functions to capture, load, and maintain databases on multiple environments.
Data analysis, produce ad hoc queries and develop reports to support business needs
Diagnose and resolve any data and performance issues, ensure all database systems meet business and performance requirements
Proactively working on identifying and improving data quality
Creation and maintenance of technical documentation such as, data dictionaries, ERDs, Test Plan, Test Report, User Manual etc.
Participate as a member in Agile teams, and work with other team members to review user stories, estimate effort for user stories, and participate in sprint reviews
A degree in Computing or Software Engineering or equivalent experience, coupled with approximately 1-2 years of relevant experience
Proficiency across a variety of software applications and computer systems
Knowledge of WPF, XAML, .NET Core, .NET Framework, ODATA, React / Redux and Windows Services would be an additional asset
Hands on experience in multi-tiered architecture application environment
Excellent project management, analytical, problem solving, communication and organization skills
Strong human relations skills
Dedication to meet project deadlines
Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
Production of quality deliverables within time and resource constraints
Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and a positive thinker
The candidate must have strong verbal and written English communication skills as well as the ability to excel in a team environment.
All candidates must be able to obtain both CGP and ITAR clearance.
