Overview :
Lee Valley is seeking a Category Coordinator for a permanent / full-time opportunity. Did you know that about 1 / 3 of our total sales volume is in products of our own design;
the balance is from items our Category Managers source from around the world. This is where you fit in.
As the Category Coordinator, you report into a Category Manager, and are primarily involved with collecting and consolidating requirements and other insights in support of vendor management activities and the evaluation and onboarding of new products.
You work closely as a liaison with vendors and internal partners to provide support on initiatives that drive the business and reinforce Lee Valley’s position as a trusted, compelling place for our customers to shop.

What you’ll do :
Collect and maintains confidential records / files, prepares correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, departmental statistics and / or presentations with graphics
Collects, collates and validates information for new product / vendor entries on CW Direct, WMi and for the development of marketing collateral
Coordinates meetings, printing and collating information packages
Coordinates sample reviews and manages product samples throughout their lifecycle (receipt through disposal) for the product development group
Communicates and collates information for travel
Provides administrative support within the team and performs other special projects to support departmental activities, where required
Other duties and special projects as assigned
What you bring :
Post-secondary degree Business, Finance
Detail oriented with excellent organization and time-management skills
Ability to synthesize data, draw a conclusion, and make recommendations
Strong analytical skills and ability to work with data in Excel using pivot tables and various other key Excel functions to analyze, organize and present data
Well organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of category management or purchasing procedures an asset
Knowledge of Lee Valley product lines
