This position requires a broad based construction and management background and is regarded as an expert within their discipline providing leadership and management to multiple crews within the Division’s construction services team.
The Construction Services Project Manager is responsible to manage, on a daily basis, multiple crews on various sites, deal with client issues related to that site as well as staff issues directly related to that site.
The Construction Services Project Manager represents the company with clients on an ongoing basis and may identify and pursue market opportunities within area of expertise.
Provides day to day management of various, multi-crew projects, on site staff, and equipment
Deals with day to day issues relating to the on-site performance of construction crews, including both staff and equipment
Deals with key clients’ field supervisors
Ensures that projects are operating smoothly and efficiently and that productivity and quality levels are at acceptable rates.
Responsible for the onboarding and training of new construction employees.
Provides direction, training and guidance with regards to operation of equipment.
Identifies and mentors high potential staff.
Works with other Project Managers in their Division to develop and update technical specifications, in house training requirements and evaluation of new equipment and technologies.
Assist in recruitment and retention of employees.
The Project Manager may occasionally be required to work in the field on particularly challenging projects or on projects where performance issues have arisen
The Project Manager is expected to be highly billable (85%)
Pursue business opportunities and proposals
Performing safety inspections in accordance and at the frequency of Allnorth safety requirements.
Other duties as required.
Diploma in Civil Technology and 7 or more years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 years of broad based and progressive experience in a construction office environment.
Minimum of 2 years as a team leader of at least 10 staff utilizing and demonstrating each of the following Behavioural Competencies.

Receives direction from the Construction Services Manager on direct, project specific technical, personnel and business issues, as well as overall strategic direction from Division Manager on other issues.
Receives leadership on Safety matters from Corporate Safety Officer.
The Construction Project Manager is a direct role model for multiple on-site crews who potentially interact with Allnorth clients’ field staff on a daily basis.
The Construction Project Manager also collaborates with office staff on a technical level.
The Construction Project Manager plays a leading role in identifying, mentoring and developing future senior technical staff.
Travel (25-50%) is required, almost exclusively within the Divisions operating area, sometimes on short notice. Travel to remote work locations including occasional overnight trips to resolve difficult field issues and or perform site audits is required
