Hardware and Firmware Co-Verification Engineer - SMTS

The Role :

Co-Verification Engineering role with our System Management Unit (SMU) Team. Own the hardware and firmware co-verification of various embedded microprocessor subsystems and the associated hardware accelerators in leading edge SOC’s.

The Person :

A motivated staff-level engineer who is able to independently drive tasks to completion using an analytical mind, problem solving skills and attention to details as well as professional, interpersonal, and communication skills while working closely with SoC integration and SoC DV teams.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain subsystem firmware / hardware co-verification architecture, testbench, test methodology for
  • Create embedded firmware and test cases for SOC secure boot and embedded microprocessor driven hardware acceleration services Hardware / Firmware co-verification
  • Spec subsystems, influence IP micro-architecture development, develop and verify abstracted FW and HW performance models
  • Develop and execute subsystem and block level test plans and develop and debug UVM and C-DPI test cases with integrated FW
  • Improve subsystem level integration scripts
  • Build subsystem testbenches and test run scripts
  • Preferred Experience :

  • Proven firmware and hardware DV experience
  • Proficient with programming and scripting : C, C++, Assembly, Verilog, System Verilog, and several scripting languages (Make, Perl, Python, etc.)
  • Experience to verification methodology and tools : such as UVM methodology and C-DPI methodology; plus ease with ASIC verification tools, simulation, linting, power aware simulation, etc.
  • Proven depth of knowledge in standard bus / interface protocols (i.e. AXI, AHB, AMBA)
  • Deep experience with firmware design on commercial microprocessors and strong track record using microprocessor tool chain, compiler, assembler, debugger
  • Academic Credentials :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or another relevant field
  • Master’s or PhD Degree preferred
