Position status : Temporary full-time (10 months), 37.5 hours per week
As an engine of MSF Canada and the MSF movement at large, the Fundraising Department plays a critical role in securing the success of our social mission.
Raising over $60 million in private funding through integrated direct response campaigns, major gifts, special campaigns, and legacy and planned giving vehicles the Fundraising Department is at the heart of our humanitarian emergency medical operations in the field.
POSITION OBJECTIVE :
The Digital Marketing Officer manages MSF Canada’s online fundraising, including optimizing performance of online activities to achieve fundraising objectives of supporter engagement, donor acquisition, data capture and analysis, and online revenue generation of $8+ million across MSF Canada’s various digital platforms.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Direct Marketing and Donor Engagement and working with MSF colleagues across departments and movement-
wide, the Digital Marketing Officer initiates strategies, campaigns and online content creation primarily for fundraising.
DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES :
Develop the mid-term digital strategy and annual plan to achieve the fundraising targets
Work together with the direct marketing, principal gifts and donors’ relations teams to support their digital needs, align strategies and develop integrated and multi-channel campaigns
Manage the digital activities to drive traffic to the website and conversion to online individual donations
Manage the allocation of budget across all digital marketing channels (e.g. Paid Search, SEO, Display, Email) to maximize income not only from the digital activities per see but also from the offline channels
Control expenditure and income of the digital activities and monitor results along the year
Develop and manage evergreen, seasonal and emergency digital marketing campaigns, from initial brief to final delivery
Manage digital suppliers, ensuring that campaigns are delivered on time and on budget and according to MSF needs
Manage e-mail campaigns : schedule activities, commission content and selection of imagery and multimedia (in collaboration with colleagues in the communications department), layout and design.
Analyze results of e-mail campaigns in order to increase the number and value of donations generated
Manage, update and oversee integrity of email lists
Manage of the online fundraising platforms / systems with the support of the ICT team : Luminate Online, Shopify Plus, Team Raiser, and other digital fundraising platforms.
Train users as necessary
Manage and update fundraising content and systems according to the FR needs : MSF.ca donation forms, FR content related pages, e-
commerce and third party events platforms (coordinate review, translation and approval of all digital fundraising content)
Propose, develop and execute strategies for online lead generation and engagement
Track, analyze and report on performance of digital marketing activities and use this analysis to advise on improvements to maximize the results
Work together with the communications team on the MSF Canada FR social networks strategy for both engagement and acquisition
Actively participate on the MSF International digital fundraising working group Build networks with key individuals working in charity and commercial sector digital marketing, to gain market intelligence, expert advice and assistance.

QUALIFICATIONS / JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and experience
A college or university degree in online / digital communications or similar field of study, or equivalent work experience
5+ years in digital marketing or digital fundraising
Experience in managing digital projects from websites implementation, donations forms tests, digital campaigns,
Experience with digital marketing tools such as email marketing tools, Online gateways and payment methods, Digital marketing, SEOs and Analytics tools, CRM and website integration (e.
g. Luminate Online), Coding and segmentation systems and procedures
Experience in managing digital providers
Strong experience with multimedia, audio, video and / or image production software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, SoundSlides, and / or Audio Creator)
Skills and competences
Familiarity with common web languages (e.g. HTML, CSS), Unix servers, and Internet service providers
Project coordination knowledge
Data-processing and information management skills
Creative problem solver, with meticulous attention to detail
Highly organized with strong project management skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Sound understanding of marketing principles, with an understanding of latest technologies and how to apply them in digital marketing
Good interpersonal skills, capacity to work both independently and with a dynamic team in a fast-paced office environment
Familiarity with and interest in international aid / relief, humanitarian, medical, social justice and / or global political issues
Fluency in English is required; fluency in French would be an asset
