This opportunity is specific to Parker's Electronic Motion & Controls Division (EMC), an exciting and fast-paced environment providing technologies that create and control motion to customers across a wide range of applications and industries. This critical position allows you to become part of a team that aligns products and worldwide engineering and manufacturing capabilities to build our presence in a growing electrification space. EMC brings together decades of controls and electronics design and manufacturing expertise with significant growth opportunities presented by our mobile electrification and industrial efforts.The Hardware Designer is responsible for all aspects of designing electronics for new product development projects or providing lifecycle support on existing products. Typical designs may include microprocessor-based controllers, display clusters, display terminals, sensors, etc. used in mobile control systems applications.
  • Under general supervision, perform technical tasks related to electronic product design, manufacturing, and testing of electronic products
  • Review customer requirements and specifications; estimate the effort required to complete development/support activities
  • Develop and/or revise product requirements
  • Generate designs that satisfy product requirements: creation of schematics, design analysis and simulation, new component selection and documentation
  • Participate in design and manufacturing reviews and design FMEAs
  • Work closely with internal and external customers and with suppliers to resolve technical issues
  • Monitor and/or perform verification activities against test plans
  • Participate in product support activities including analysis of field failures and production problems; recommend and verify solutions
  • Follow structured product development processes and deliver on the outputs from these processes
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of quality, schedule, and cost, and the impact of these areas on the product development process
  • Provide input on technological advancements applied in the designs for tax credit reports
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, typically acquired through 4-6 years of related experience
  • Experience with schematic capture and simulation applications, lab test equipment and programming languages C, Python, Labview, C++, C Sharp are an asset
