    Arrow Engineering, a Division of Englobe is looking for a Design Technologist to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta.

    Your Contribution

    Accountable to the Project Manager, the Design Technologist supports the development and delivery of site development projects ranging from conceptual design to construction services, with a specific focus on site servicing, site grading and storm water management.

    The incumbent to this role is regarded as a technical resource to all aspects of project delivery and will participate in identifying and implementing solutions when appropriate.

    The work environment is of high volume, offering a range of project complexities and requires a high level of responsibility.

    This role encompasses, however, is not limited to the following duties :

  • Works with the Project Managers and alongside colleagues, actively supports the development of civil designs during design and construction to ensure efficient and sustainable project delivery
  • Reinforces the development of standards related to our civil engineering drawings, ensuring best practices for project design and delivery, and when applicable sustainable building construction
  • Prepares preliminary schematics and layouts as directed by senior team members
  • Reviews drawings for interferences with other disciplines
  • Prepares and modifies drawings during design and construction while ensuring the civil drawings and specifications meet established project criteria and applicable standards, while working with project team members, including external consultants, architects, and developers, to maintain current status of drawings
  • Utilizes industry specific software and related technologies in design
  • When necessary, involvement with a variety of agencies for project approvals and permitting purposes
  • Successfully develops relationships with engineers, technologists, technicians, and construction personnel
  • Meets with clients regarding projects, progress reporting, and the resolution of technical issues, when required
  • Conducts necessary research to gather industry, field and project specific data

  • Your Profile

  • The Ideal candidate will have a certificate or diploma in civil engineering technology from an accredited institution, with an emphasis on site grading and drainage, including storm water management.
  • three years of experience in technical design engineering or equivalent experience and responsibilities is required.
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office is required.
  • Experience with various types of civil construction projects and the ability to conceptualize in three dimensions is also required
