What you can expect in a typical day :

The Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist is a key team member in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning and analysis processes.

This role will work closely with senior operations personnel in developing and delivering reporting solutions and bench marking operational data in support of the business.

What you’ll need to succeed :

  • Direct and review monthly and annual Solomon submissions, including in-depth analysis on results, coordination with key contributors and ensuring alignment across submissions
  • Responsible for scorecards development, alignment across operational scorecard, and ensuring leadership is utilizing scorecards
  • Responsible to lead the cash flow improvement initiative. This will require working with all refinery managers to identify opportunities and to report results on initiatives
  • Partner with business to provide in-depth ad hoc analytics
  • Cultivate relationships with business counterparts and provide expertise and support on financial matters to the operational leadership team

  • Education and Experience :

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
  • 8 + years of finance, accounting, and / or project engineering
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with Microsoft office application, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Graduate program and / or professional designation would be considered an asset (CPA, CFA, MBA)
  • Experience working within a refinery environment would be considered an asset
